Before introducing yourself, it is important to greet the other person politely.

Common Greetings

안녕하세요.
Hello.

만나서 반갑습니다.
Nice to meet you.

These expressions are used in formal and polite situations.

Saying Your Name

To introduce your name, use:

저는 ___ 입니다.

Meaning:

"I am ___."

Examples

저는 누만입니다.
I am Nouman.

저는 민수입니다.
I am Min-su.

저는 지영입니다.
I am Ji-young.

저는 = I

입니다 = am

This is one of the most important Korean sentence patterns.
